JOB SUMMARY


A "hybrid" publicity position that will contribute to growing Scholastic brands and expand key licensed and pop culture publishing programs.


YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES


+ Support the VP of Global Brand Publicity & Franchise Strategy to develop and execute "out of the box" campaigns for key properties.

+ Be strategic, creative, collaborative and flexible: work closely with clients (talent/authors, brand partners).

+ Build a network of ambassadors (bloggers and press in non-traditional platforms) and cultivate relationships (brand partners) to bring projects to bestseller status.

+ Work closely with marketing, creative, editorial and sales teams to create customized and strategic events/tours that will generate and sustain buzz for key properties and authors.

+ Take responsibility for all aspects of author tours: booking travel, coordinating logistics, etc.

+ Write customized press materials/pitch letters.

+ Identify and monitor trends and competitive markets.

+ Attend key industry conventions (gaming, licensing, etc.) as needed.


HOW YOU CAN FIT


+ A minimum 2-4 years of experience in youth media, book PR, and/or brand development.

+ Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, work well under pressure, prioritize, and meet tight and constantly changing deadlines.

+ Excellent writing, organizational, and presentation skills.

+ Willing to travel if/when necessary.

+ Demonstrated interest in pop culture, social media, gaming, digital PR a strong plus.

+ Self-starter and team player capable of multi-tasking.
